YOUR SESSION
How does it all work?
My daylight studio in Dulwich is designed to be a space where you feel comfortable and confident. I want your headshot session to feel effortless – like an afternoon spent in good company. That’s why we start with a good chat, good coffee, and good tunes (your pick).
I don’t even pick up the camera until I know who you are and what you need. So before we shoot, I take time to understand:
- How you and your agent see your casting
- The type of work you do and want to do
- What you need from your headshots
This way, I capture images that work for you, as well as being beautiful, stand out portraits. So there are no cookie-cutter sessions or formulaic setups here. I tailor every shoot to you – your casting, your ambitions, your individuality.
I know this industry is hard work, unpredictable, and comes with its fair share of humbling moments. So I want your headshot session to be the absolute opposite of that – relaxed, fun, and in a space where you can just be yourself. Because that is when the magic happens.
Is this a good time to point out that I have a very small, hairy, three (yes, three) legged studio assistant? She is pretty useless as an assistant, but she is super cute and is available for mid-session cuddles if required. If you're not a dog lover, or worse... they bring you out in hives, please do let me know and she will very happily have a sofa day at home.
Where do you shoot?
I have a beautiful daylight studio in Dulwich, London. This environment gives me total control over the natural light and the ability to manipulate it to suit each person. Occasionally I will add a touch of studio light too but my goal is to always keep your shots looking natural, honest and uncontrived.
What should I wear?
Bring clothes that make you feel good, that people compliment you in, your trusty, old favourites, that feel like you. Bring clothes that compliment your eye colour and skin tones. Bring pattern, bring texture, bring colour, bring plain. Bring clothes that give a small nod in the direction of your typical casting brackets. No two actors need the same approach so bring it all and we can rummage through together, making our selection based on what is going to work best for you and what gives us as much variation as possible. And don’t forget your bottom half – yes this is predominantly a headshot session, but we also shoot some wider, editorial shots too.
Once you book your session, I send you through an information sheet that tells you more specifically all you need to know about your session, where to go and what to bring but I am always available to talk things through on the phone beforehand if you need.
How long is the session?
I don’t limit the number of shots I take – I simply shoot until we are both happy that we have what we need. The whole process from beginning to end takes between 1½ to 2 hours.
HOW DOES PAYMENT WORK?
On booking I take a £50 deposit which is fully refundable up to 48 hours before your session. The remainder of your fee is due on the day of the session and images are not released until full payment has been made. I know how much of an investment this is and so I also take payment via Klarna so as you can ease the burden and spread the cost over 3 months.

What happens next?
Within 3 working days after your session, you and your agent are emailed a link to your own personal web gallery where you can both mark your favourites and place your order. My retoucher then carries out any necessary retouching and your order will be back with you within 7 working days.
HOW MUCH RETOUCHING DO YOU DO?
In the world of ever developing AI, authenticity has never been more important. So I keep the retouching light touch but dynamic. Embrace the quirks, celebrate the differences, whilst looking like the very best version of you.
